The Muslim Educational Society (Regd.), Calicut, in short MES, established in 1964, is one of the biggest Educational agencies in India and is an active presence in the field of Minority welfare for the last six decades and a driving force for the remarkable transformation of the educational status of the backward communities in Kerala. At present, the society is managing 160 institutions including Medical College, Dental College, Engineering Colleges, Architecture Colleges, B.ed Colleges, Arts and Science Colleges, Nursing College, Nursing School, Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Management Institutes, CBSE/State Syllabus Schools, Orphanages, Hospitals and old age homes. MES has introduced many social welfare schemes for the benefit of Minority Communities including the scheme of awarding scholarship to the deserving students. The Aims and objectives of the Society as laid down in the Bye-laws are to work for the Educational, Social, Cultural and Economic advancement of the people of India in all possible ways.
ABOUT MES COLLEGE OF NURSING, PERINTHALMANNA
The MES College of Nursing, attached with MES Medical College and run by the Muslim Educational Society (Regd.), Calicut, was started in 2004. It is recognized by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Kerala, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, Kerala Nursing & Midwives Council, Thiruvananthapuram and is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. The annual intake for the B.Sc. Nursing Course is 70 students. The College has also obtained permission from all concerned authorities for starting of M.Sc. Nursing with an intake of 2 students/ year i.e 2 students per Specialty (Mental Health Nursing and Medical & Surgical Nursing) and P.B.B.Sc. Nursing with an intake of 20 students per year starting from the academic year 2016-17 onwards. The college has achieved the prestigious status of being a Post Graduate Nursing Institute with PG Degree Courses. The College building comprises four stories with a total floor area of 55,000sq.ft.
